Since, 2018/2019, Fleetville Junior School has consistently been awared the School Games Platinum Award - the highest award possible. This prestigious government-led award celebrates our schools' commitment to developing sport within our school and community. To achieve this, we have consistently demonstrated how we:
- Maintain and increase engagement in sport, and ensure every child gets exercise every day.
- Organise competitions, providing positive experiences tailored to children's motivation, confidence, & abilities.
- Focus on key transition points, such as Year 2/3 and Year 6/7.
- Support the personal development of targeted children through youth engagement and leadership.
- Engage key stakeholders to promote the value of exercise and enhance local provision.
- Provide equal opportunities for all young people.
- Understand and develop children's knowledge and skills.
Platinum School Games Mark 2026 - 2027
Sports Premium
The Primary PE and Sport Premium is funding provided directly by the Department for Education to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of physical education, physical activity, and sport offered in primary schools.
Schools must use the funding to build capacity and capability within the school to ensure that improvements will benefit pupils joining the school in future years. Spending is planned and evaluated across five key indicators set by the Department for Education:

Staff CPD: Increasing the confidence, knowledge, and skills of all staff in teaching PE and sport.

Broader Provision: Offering a broader experience of a range of sports and physical activities to encourage healthy, active lifestyles.

School Profile: Raising the profile of PE and sport across the school as a tool for whole-school improvement.

Targeted Engagement: Increasing pupil participation in regular physical activity and targeted sports clubs (particularly for less active pupils).

Inclusive and Extra-Curricular Opportunities
We value extra-curricular sporting activities. We aim to provide as many sporting opportunities as we can for as wider range of children - actively encouraging sporing participation from SEND children, disadvantaged pupils, and increasing girls' sports access
In line with DfE conditions of grant, our school publishes an annual expenditure and impact report detailing how our funding allocation has been spent and the sustained impact on our pupils.
